Challenges and Objectives

ASICS, as part of its strategy to attract and retain talent, set out to improve the employee experience by offering an exclusive benefits portal. The objective was to provide a discount portal to its employees with a wide range of promotions, but with the ability to segment the offers to exclude any competitor offers from the available catalogue.The platform should offer an excellent user experience and access through an app. Easy and intuitive. This was a mandatory condition, especially for off-site staff without access to a computer.
Another challenge was to have a single, multi-language portal to serve its more than 400 employees in offices and shops, spread across Spain and Portugal.

Solution and results

Following a recommendation from one of its partners, ASICS chose to work with Vip District and launched ASICS Shopping Club. The platform offered a wide selection of promotions and also allowed the exclusion of competitor offers to improve the relevance of promotions for employees.
The mobile experience and app were the big surprise. The ASICS Shopping Club app has a top rating on the Apple Store and Google Play (4.7 out of 5), ensuring the best experience for Asics employees.

Within 4 months of its launch, ASICS Shopping Club achieved a 50% employee sign-up rate. An impressive mark for a company that has part of the workforce in the points of sale and with little access to corporate email. No doubt a reflection of the company’s great internal communication work.

ASICS employees now have access to a wide range of exclusive promotions, ranging from staples to consumer goods such as travel, fashion, wellness, technology and more. In addition to impacting the purchasing power of its employees, the new benefit strengthens the ability to attract and retain talent, an issue that affects many companies in the retail sector.
